St. Joe's River Tay Walk 2016

On Saturday 19th November a group of staff and friends from St.Joe's Primary School in Kelty took on a half marathon style walk from Grandtully to Aberfeldy and then onto the picturesque village of Kenmore by Loch Tay.

Repeat fundraisers and supportive friends of Nicola's Charity , this walk was change from the normal munro challenge they previously set themselves , as the pals wanted to try something a wee bit different this year.

They started their walk on the chilliest but sunniest of days, by walking along the old railway line from Grandtully to Aberfeldy crossing General Wades bridge and continuing along the River Tay to finish at Kenmore Village. The walk ,which is around 12-13 miles , was picturesque and interesting , as the group took in the sights and evidence of local wildlife , such as red squirrels and beavers!

It was great to welcome some new members of the group this year and the friends enjoyed swapping  stories and reminicing about their previous challenges.

Many , many thanks to the team from St.Joe's  : John , Paula , Angela , Gordon , Maura , Louise , Amy ,  Hazel  and  Kirsty.
