Opening of the Salmon Season

Thank you - Patrons and Staff of the Kenmore Hotel , Kenmore

Again , many thanks for the fantastic generosity of the Kenmore Hotel and its owner Mr.Malcolm Flinn for including the Nicola Murray Foundation as one of the charities benefitting from the phenomenal fundraising that takes place at this event every year.

The foundation would particularly like to thank those who organised and bid on the charity auction lots , and those who donated at the table raffle.

Several of those attending made large donations to add to the total making for an amazing total.

We'd also like to thank Mr. Andrew McFarlane , who kindly spoke on behalf of the Nicola Murray Foundation , providing an outline of our new fund and our intentions to fund research into HNPCC and Ovarian Cancer. Thank you, Andy.

The Kenmore Hotel (www.kenmorehotel.com) organises the traditional opening of the River Tay salmon season on 16th January each year. It has been staged at Kenmore since 1947 and in recent years they have held a charitable auction, with all funds raised being distributed to local and national charities. In addition to the Nicola Murray Foundation, funds are also raised for the Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS - www.chas.org.uk) and Angling For Youth Development (AFYD - www.afyd.co.uk).

We thank the patrons of the Kenmore Hotel for their continued support.
